壁画：マーロウ町にて

僕が住む州のマーロウ町という小さな町で、小中学校が使う新しい体育館での壁画の仕事です。
大学時代から仲の良い博士がよく彼の仕事に誘ってくれて、普段では訪れない小さな町や市などによく出かけました。

やはりミッドウェストなのでカウボーイや馬テーマが多く、今回も野生の馬の群れで、4頭を描いてきました。

I am living in a midwest area of the US, and often my professor/friend asks me to help his mural project. He gets commissions locally and sometimes internationally. So, I am very lucky to have this kind of experience and get to know many other people through this mural business.

Of course, people love cowboys and horses in my state, and those are the dominant themes of the murals. This was for the brand new sports auditorium in a small town for elementary and middle schools. I painted four horses.

In the Time

これも大学学士の最後の学期に描いたもので、友達が結婚した時に
結婚祝いとしてあげました。

普段のテーマとは違って、ちょっとロマンティックなシーンを描いてみました。

This piece was also painted in my last semester of BFA in 2006. I gave this painting as a wedding gift to one of my dear friends. The theme is a little different from what I usually do.

Project Meus Bible: Cover Page

何年も前に始めた　”僕の聖書”　プロジェクト。
まだ4ページまでしかできておらず、これはカバーとなる絵です。

このプロジェクトは僕の詩に絵を付け加えるというシンプルなコンセプトで、
今まで書いた150程の詩全てに絵をつけたいと思っています。

暫く休養してますが、時が来たらまた始めるつもりです。

I started this project several years ago, and this is a cover page design. With this project, I will add illustrations to my over 150 poetry. It has been on hold after 4th page, but I have every intention to start this again when the time is right.

僕と空

 Mixed mediaです。

この作品も十分な計画もなく始めたのでだらだらと続いてしまいました。結果的にはそこまで嫌いな作品ではなかったですが、どこに行ったかは不明です。。。汗。

This piece was started without a clear idea or plan. So, it took a while to complete.

 I do not remember either this was sold or I lost it...😅

3連の結構大き目のデジタルの作品です。（デジタルなので大きさは自由に変えられますが）3－4枚の油絵を重ねて作りました。

This is a triptych digital piece. I combined 3-4 oil paintings together.

Star of the North

北の星
油彩
48”x60”　（121.92㎝x152.4）

これも学士過程の最後の学期に描いた絵で、描いた後に知ったのですがヨハネの黙示禄で世界の終末にガブリエルがラッパを吹きならすという場面があるようです。それを想定して描いたわけではありません。
This was also painted in my last semester of the BFA program. I read later that there is a scene in the "Revelation" that Gabriel plays horn at the beginning of the Apocalypse. However, this painting is not depicting the scene since I did not know about it at that time.

人生初の大型の絵で、背景は全てナイフでべったりと厚塗りなのです、無いお金をつぎ込んで😥油絵の具をふんだんに使いました。
This was my first large-scale painting. I used a palette knife for the background, which I used a whole a lot of paint... I painted the figure with a brush.

大学学士、最後の学期に描いた作品です。
油に粘土とコンピューターの破片を使っています。
This was done in my last semester of BFA.


2006年の終わり頃にようやく絵を描くエンジンがかかって最後の学期では計11－13の絵を描きました。
At the end of 2006, I finally got the motivation to explore different types of paintings and media. My last semester was one of the most prolific time for me and completed 11-13 paintings within 4 months. 

まだまだ力不足ではありましたが、ようやく美術の奥深さに気づき始めた時で四六時中絵を描いていました。
Although all pieces were still beginner level, I finally started to study more in-depth about the oil painting. For the last 6 month of my BFA program, I painted day and night.

この絵は詩も一緒についてきます。
This work comes with a poem. I will write about it later.

この人と鳥をモチーフにした題材はこの後も良く僕の絵に出てきます。昔から空に憧れていたので自然に翼をもつ鳥に憧れを持つようになりました。
This half-human-half-bird figure often appears in my artworks. I have always dreamed of flying in the never-ending blue sky. So it was natural for me to admire birds, and came up with this hybrid creature.
