Mural: Bartlesville, Oklahoma

We were invited to paint a mural at Bartlesville, Oklahoma. They let us stay at the Price Tower designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

The mural was for a building in the middle of downtown, and the theme was the town's history.

 It took about 3 days to complete.

2010年にあったオンラインでの抽象画絵画展です。下2点が審査員のSpecial Recognitionをもらいました。オンライン展覧会とはいえ、キュアレーターから直々に、僕の作品について言葉をもらうのは初めてだったので嬉しかったです。

This online exhibition was in 2010, and I received special recognition by the judge on my last two paintings. I had never had such honour before, and I was pretty excited about it. Also, those two paintings are still my favourites (well,, I know I have many favourite paintings of mine...lol) and hanging in my house.

Show at a university medical center

2009年と2012年、オクラホマ州で一番大きなオクラホマ大学病院で個展の機会をもらいました。上の写真は2009年、下のは2012年のもので、2009年には3連のひまわりを含め、2点の絵が売れました。

どちらの展示も医者や患者さんたちに好評だったようでとても嬉しかったです。

In 2009 and 2012, I had a privilege to have a solo exhibition at the University of Oklahoma Medical Center. Pictures above are from 2009 and pictures below are from 2012.

In 2009, one of the doctors contacted me and bought the tryptic Sunflowers, as well as one of the nurses, bought another flower painting. It was so nice and encouraging to hear how much they enjoyed those exhibitions.

Mural: Davenport

車で1時間ほどの所にある小さな町ダベンポート。町の中心にある商店街の一角での壁画の仕事でした。町の歴史を壁画に表すのが課題で、沢山の古い写真を眺めながらの作業でした。

Davenport is a small town about an hour from Oklahoma City. This project was on a shop's sidewall in the downtown area to represent the history of the city. So, we referenced many old photos of this town.

1日目はバックグラウンドを塗り、夜を待ってプロジェクターで壁に大きく書くイメージを映し出します。

The first day, we painted background. Then, we waited till nightfall to project images to the wall to outline.

3日間かけて描きました。
This was a 3-day project. 

この小さな町、以外にも有名な　”ルート66”　上にあるので、海外からのお客さんが結構来るらしいです。

町の小さなダイナー。　こういうレストランって、何故か惹かれます。

This little town is located on "Route 66". So, international travellers often stop by at this tiny diner. They had excellent food and fantastic service!

Business Cards

前から、何気にビジネスカードをデザインするのが好きだったので、今のところ5種類あります。名刺だけではなく、一つの作品として楽しんでもらえたら嬉しいと思って作っています。5種類目を作ったのは数年前。画家業から学芸員としてメインに仕事するようになってからストップしてますが、またその内始めたいと思います。　

I like to design my business cards and created 5 different designs. I hope the people see this as not only business cards but also as artworks. I stopped designing them several years ago as my main focus became to practice as a museum professional. Nevertheless, I am hoping to start to design a new one.

Haunted

何年も前に作ったデジタルです。

人は自然と向き合う時、もっとも無力な存在となります。そんな考えを込めた作品です。

This is a digital piece that I worked on several years ago. We are powerless against nature, but we often forget that. We tend to ignore the fact we are let to live by mother nature...
