Small Ray of Hope 2007 in NYC

I became very active in submitting my artworks everywhere in the United States, as well as oversea right after my graduation in 2006.
Other than my mural professor, no other studio art professors taught us how to be professional or how to be successful because they were also failed artists. They simply did not know how either. As many students thought the same, I idiotically believed having this degree (BFA) gave some legitimacy to my artworks.

But NO.

Not at all.

So, I spent a lot of my money investing in submitting juried shows everywhere, especially in the NYC area. Those 2 pieces were the first ones to get in the exhibition in Chelsea, NYC in 2007. I was so thrilled and excited, but I had no money to travel there. Therefore, all I could do was to send two pieces to the exhibition.

Several days after the opening of the show, I was contacted by the gallery owner that one of my pieces "Advent of an Angel" was sold, and the buyer wanted to know about the piece more. It was such an encouraging feeling that someone at the exhibition bought my pieces, and it was in NYC! The same piece was also selected for another exhibition in NYC in 2009.

This exhibition in NYC, which I could not go, always takes a special part of my life, and it was the only time that my piece was sold in NYC, though I had 3 more exhibitions I participated after.
